چکیده
This guidance represents FDA’s current thinking on sampling and testing yellow corn and dry-milled yellow corn shipments for Cry9C protein residues. It does not create or confer any rights for or on any person and does not operate to bind FDA or the public. 21 CFR 10.115(d). Determination of Cry9C protein in corn-based foods by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay: interlaboratory study.
The performance of a commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit (Enviro-Logix) was assessed for the determination of Cry9C protein, which is produced by the genetically modified corn StarLink, in 8 types of corn-based foods (starch, refined oil, soft tortillas, tortilla chips, corn flakes, corn puffs, corn muffins, and corn bread) in an interlaboratory study involving 7 labora...
متن کاملControl of fumonisin: effects of processing.
Of about 10 billion bushels of corn that are grown each year in the United States, less than 2% is processed directly into food products, and about 18% is processed into intermediates such as high-fructose corn syrup, ethanol, and cornstarch. The vast majority of the annual crop is used domestically for animal feed (60%), and about 16% is exported. Thus, any program for controlling residues of ...
متن کاملInvestigating the Changes in β-Carotene concentrations of Carrot and Sweet Corn Using Different Methods of Heat Treatments
Carotenoids are red, orange and yellow pigments, which are widely distributed in fruit and vegetables. The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of conventional, high pressure and microwave cooking on the concentrations of β-carotene in carrot and sweet corn. Raw carrots were washed, peeled and diced to a uniform size and then frozen at -70°C. Sweet corn was also provided in a simil...
متن کاملDistribution of fumonisins in dry-milled corn fractions in Argentina.
Corn samples and different dry-milled fractions collected from an industrial mill in Argentina were analysed. Average contaminations were FB(1) 1540 microg kg(-1), FB(2) 716 microg kg(-1) and FB(3) 152 microg kg(-1) in whole corn; FB(1) 135 microg kg(-1), FB(2) 39.1 microg kg(-1) and FB(3) 10.2 microg kg(-1) in corn grits; FB(1) 358 microg kg(-1), FB(2) 122 microg kg(-1) and FB(3) 45.9 microg k...
متن کاملBright greenish-yellow fluorescence and aflatoxin in agricultural commodities.
The corn milling industry has widely accepted the presence of bright greenish-yellow fluorescence under a black light as a presumptive indicator of aflatoxin (a poison produced by the mold Aspergillus flavus). This test was applied to wheat, oats, barley, rice, coconut, white corn, yellow corn, peanuts, sorghum, and soybeans, and evaluated in the laboratory. Our study supported the use of brigh...
